In 2014, Sara Panton made waves in the 25-year-old essential oil industry. Along with her brother, they launched vitruvi – a stylish line of essential oil products made by and for millennial women, and the first of its kind. In a chat with Sara, she told me one of vitruvi’s goals is to elevate the simple moments of the day, allowing customization of beauty, body, and home rituals. There are many benefits to bringing essential oils into your routine, but we have to say, reduced stress is at the top of the list. Sara shares her favorite 3 rituals for morning, noon, and night:
Morning – Simple Spa Shower
Add 5 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil to the palm of your hands in the shower. Rub your palms together and breathe deeply. The heat from the shower will intensify the oil and leave your shower (and bathroom) smelling like a eucalyptus spa steam room… not a bad way to start the day. Eucalyptus can help to promote deep breathing, leaving you feeling more awake naturally (maybe even before your first coffee).
Afternoon – Easy Desk Meditation
Burning candles aren’t functional for a workplace or desk, but customizing your own diffuser blend can be a beautiful way to create a wellness moment regardless of how long your to-do list is. Adding 5 Drops Cedarwood, 5 Drops Frankincense and 10 drops sweet orange is a grounding yet uplifting aroma that helps cue the brain and body that it’s time to get to work. Close your eyes, take three deep breaths and set your intention for the work you’re creating.
Night – Custom Skincare (in the palm of your hand)
Blend your own skincare that is as dynamic as you. To nourish skin during the winter months add 5 drops of French Plum oil, 2 drops of Meadowfoam Seed (they add a pillowy softness to the face), and 1 drop of organic lavender essential oil in the palm of your hand. Massage the face and neck, and take three deep breaths and get ready for a deep sleep.
