“When my clients brought me on, they had already hired an amazing architect and had initial plans drawn up,” Nicole Salceda of Eye for Pretty says of this project in the Bay Area. “The home already had great bones to start with and the views from their kitchen and family room were insane! It feels like you are in a treehouse because there are views of the entire valley.” Nicole and her team made some revisions, ensuring the finished product would work really well for the young family.
The clients had several inspiration pictures, all with a similar theme throughout: natural wood tones, painted cabinetry, matte black metals, and tile that was timeless but on trend. “It was fun to see the husband really involved in the process, although I feel like the girls wore him down a few times,” Nicole laughs. “He was committed to a few things (a large stainless fridge and Wolf range) but was open to other suggestions (all marble in the kitchen). When I presented the bathroom and laundry design board, I included a patterned tile option. Both of them agreed they were not fans and decided to stick with more neutral selections, I appreciated that they recognized that instead of ordering a patterned tile and not loving it!”
By capitalizing on the abundance of natural light and the big windows, the home is as bright and airy as possible. There is ample storage, a family-friendly layout, and of course — plenty of style. Nicole tells us more in the slideshow.
