Jodie Rosen of Toronto’s ROSEN+CO Design Studio was tasked with a special project for a client entering into a new chapter of life. “She’s a single mom with two older kids,” Jodie explains. “This is their first home post-divorce, so it was a great chance for our client to reflect exactly what she wanted, without compromise.”
The house is in Cedarvale, a family-friendly neighborhood in central Toronto. “Overall, the house needed to feel soft and calm with an emphasis on textures,” the designer explains. “The home had to be ‘kid-friendly’ but still sophisticated. It had to feel like home.”
Jodie put together a comprehensive plan, including all new furniture and decor, transforming a living room into an office, and transforming a bedroom into a luxurious dressing room—all of which was accomplished in four short months. “Our client was so excited,” Jodie tells us with a big smile. “She couldn’t believe it was her home + she got to live there!”
