Tiffany Howell is a true blue creative. She began her career working as a music video producer and director with the legendary Herb Ritts, and later conceptualized and produced music videos for iconic artists, including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez. In 2016, she turned her focus towards her true passion—interior design—launching Los Angeles-based agency Night Palm with her partner, William Melton.

Night Palm encompasses that inherent Los Angeles “cool factor,” with Tiffany’s portfolio including both residential and commercial spaces. Her celebrity clientele has come to expect her rock n’ roll-meets-romantic aesthetic, with interesting and unexpected details around every corner. Today, take five minutes to get to know the woman behind the brand.

MY LIGHT-BULB MOMENT:
I had an epiphany that I could implement all of my previous passions and life experiences into creating spaces that inspire people. I realized the emotional landscape within fashion, art, music, cinema and poetry can be brought to life through interior design. I love the idea that things can subconsciously make you feel a certain way and every aspect of a room can set the tone for your being. I knew my true desire lay within giving this experience to others. I became obsessed with bringing people’s stories to life.

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
I’ve done a gratitude and manifestation-based meditation. Each morning, I read a poem, chosen at random, to serve as the inspiration for my day. Next is coffee and music. For me, the morning is about igniting my senses to get my creative juices flowing.

SUCCESS IS:
Enjoying the ride rather than looking to the next destination. I live for the moments where I feel like I’m truly in the flow of life, when I’m open to new things. There are only fleeting moments of feeling accomplished. To me, success is allowing myself to feel the joy of my accomplishments rather than focusing on the accomplishments themselves.

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
Sunglasses, my YSL bag, sparkling water and my serpent ring for divine feminine energy.

MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
Something weird with David Lynch or a homewear line with Gucci.

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN LOS ANGELES:
Italy.

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I mood board, or pack a bag and go lay my eyes upon something new and inspiring.

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Trust that time will reveal itself. Don’t try to impose what you think you need now into your narrative. Trust the process.

IN 5 YEARS, FIND ME:
At our Night Palm Paris offices, designing our new boutique hotel in the South of France…

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Live your life like the poem you wish someone would write about you. Find the romance of life within yourself.
