This vibrant New York City apartment was designed for a creative, vibrant family of four. “From the start, their vision was clear,” says interior designer Danielle Chiprut of Danielle Rose Design Co. “They wanted a space that felt warm, welcoming, and artfully eclectic—yet fully livable and family-friendly. Their dream was to create a sanctuary from city life that balanced elevated design with moments of joy and togetherness.”
It required a full-scale interior transformation—a reimagining of what this prewar co-op could become. “We led the charge from concept through installation, handling everything from custom millwork finishes and bespoke furnishings to lighting, textiles, and stonework,” Danielle explains. “Every surface was thoughtfully considered. Nearly every piece was custom-designed or carefully sourced to fit just right. Nothing was off-the-shelf…and that’s exactly how we love it!”
She says one of the main challenges was fitting a big, artistic vision into a compact city footprint. “Finding the right scale and function for every piece was key, and of course, navigating logistics and lead times in New York City is always a feat,” she laughs. “But it was so worth it.” The project took just over a year from start to finish. “The clients were thrilled. They told us the space finally felt like them, which is the best compliment we could receive.”
