Interior designer Geri O’Toole says this new construction home was a joy to work on. “We had an international footballer and his lovely partner engage us to help them with concepts and detailed designs and project management,” she explains. “It is a detached home on a hill in the Southwest of Ireland.”

The clients were living overseas for work, but the home was going to be their home base. “They wanted a house that had a clean and bright feel, and some attention to design details to make the most from their home,” Geri says. “Timeless feel was an important one for them.”

Geri’s firm, Geri Designs, was involved from the concept to completion for the new build, which took about two years “It took a bit of work to get the details in,” she recalls. “In the living space, we color drenched to make this a moody relaxing space, and I love hidden curtain track detail that makes the window dressings feel seamless in the space. In the marble we selected for the backsplash pulls in the dark color that we have in a hidden door to the pantry.”

Now, the clients are always happy to come home. “They were blown away and really love spending time there,” she says.
