In the spring issue of RUE, we share a few of our favorite products inspired by beautiful, innovative rooms we love. It’s not a traditional “source list,” but rather ways you can capture a similar vibe in your own home. This edit features items for your furry friends (inspired by Linda Hayslett’s clever pet bed), colors that are out of this world (thanks to Penny Black Interiors), and everything you need for a killer home bar (modeled after an original Chad Dorsey Design project). Happy shopping!

Animal Kingdom
California Designer Linda Hayslett turned a storage space under the stairs into a clever and cozy spot for Remington, her client’s cute corgi. Inspired by the pleased pup, we found essentials your pet will love—and you will love to look at.

Cosmic Color
The 3M Dichroic Glass Film placed along the stairwell casts colorful shadows in this Portland home by Penny Black Interiors. It pushes the boundaries, which Principal Designer Stewart Horner loves. “Boundaries are set by dictators,” he says. “I love to design environments for adventurous, discerning clients.”

Bon Vivant
Designer Chad Dorsey transformed his clients’ underutilized craft room into the ultimate at-home bar. Inspired by a deep red wine, they lacquered the walls (Brinjal from Farrow and Ball) and hung an antique chandelier the client had purchased from a Paris hotel. Now? “Imagine the best cocktail lounge in Paris,” Dorsey says. As for what every home bar needs? “A collection of great liquor. A collection of things you like, and things others may like, too. This all becomes part of the experience.”
