Decorative Paint:  
We wanted to create a space that felt both sensual and ethereal – a little bit sexy and very restorative. With the beauty of the bay and the fog rolling by right outside, we wanted to bring a little of that feeling of serenity and romance inside. We partnered with the incredible decorative artist Caroline Lizarraga to dream up this incredible wall finish that tells the exact story we were trying to tell. When you walk into the space you can actually feel the stress of life roll off of you.

Light Fixtures Like Jewelry:  
We treated our light fixtures almost as a way to add jewelry to the space. We knew we needed fixtures that could help the space feel sexy. The Kelly Chandeliers by Gabriel Scott were a must have as the dripping chains literally ooze cool and sexy! We also partnered with the incredible Riloh lighting for the baubles in the dressing room. The Trio glass light fixture in the dressing room sets the tone of luxury immediately upon entering the space. 

Shapes:
We wanted to play with hard, angular shapes to ground the whimsy of many of the other details in the room. I always talk about good design as having a balance of masculine and feminine, and we wanted to use some hard edges and materials to give the space a little bit more of the masculine feel. We custom designed the stone triangle and round fluted tables to do just this. Layering these in front of our oak slated wall gives the space dimension and the hard edges the room needed. 

Wood Detailing:
We carefully thought about our wood choices and used the wood elements in a more graphic way that we normally do. A wood slatted wall, fluted wood panels in the dressing room, and reeded wood tables all help to give the space a modern, current, and designed feel that it needed so it didn’t feel like you were literally floating in the clouds! But I guess that wouldn’t have been so bad either.  

Antique Mirror:
In effort to give the space a “something old,” that I also think is important in design, we incorporated antique mirror on either side of the bed. It not only created a beautiful reflection of the Kelly Chandeliers but also gives the space a grounding that only antiques can do.
