“After relocating from the Northeast, my client—a 64-year-old, style-savvy mother of four and grandmother of five—was eager to settle into Boca Raton, an area she visited frequently throughout her life and would finally call home,” says Ashley Beaumier. “While she loves Florida, she did not want the interior of her new home to feel like a typical Florida home—not overly coastal, yet not overly sleek either.”

Enter Ashley’s design firm, Beaumier Interiors, which set out to create a serene, modern space with a warm, welcoming vibe. “Her previous home was expansive and very traditional, so prior to the move I helped her get rid of almost all of her furniture so we could start with a blank slate,” Ashley recalls. They intentionally kept the furnishings minimal and the palette neutral, allowing the client’s personality to shine. “She did bring with her a fairly extensive art collection and a tiger rug that we used to build the palette for the home,” the designer explains.

Ensuring the home was ready for guests proved to be a creative hurdle. “The biggest challenge was creating various entertaining zones in an open-concept floor plan surrounded by windows and necessary pathways for access to the patio and surrounding rooms on the main level,” Ashley tells us. “The first puzzle to solve was adding a fireplace to the living room area to create a cozier atmosphere and determining the best way to maximize seating without overwhelming the space, while still providing opportunities to look out onto the patio. We went through various floor plan renditions before finally landing here.”

Since the homeowner didn’t want a formal dining table, they floated a banquette area in a previously empty bay window. “This left us with an open area that wasn’t large enough for another lounge seating area, but spacious enough that we couldn’t leave it void,” she explains. “While mulling over how to address this area, we decided to add a bar to an awkward unused wall. Once this idea took shape, it felt natural to add a second intimate dining area that could be used for overflow seating when hosting her family for holidays and could double as a game/bar table for more casual gatherings.”

Now, the peaceful cul-de-sac home is perfect for her family and friends to gather, as well as enjoying the quiet moments in between her travels. “My client and I both love how quiet and private it feels even with neighbors close by,” Ashley says. The result is a thoughtful, intentional home that balances functionality with personal style—warm, modern, and completely her own.
