“I love how the exterior is a preview of what’s to come when you enter the home. A combination of clean lines and a classic black and white color scheme mixed with the warmth of the wood found in both the front and garage doors.”

“When you walk through the long foyer, you are greeted with the warmth of the natural light streaming through large windows in the family room.  We carried the white and black in from the exterior as our base and used various shades of blue, green, and cognac in order to create a calming space that the family could enjoy.”

“We selected a modern blue-grey color for the shiplap surround on the fireplace which is flanked by two chairs wrapped in a rich cognac leather.”

“The dining room needed to be a space that could easily be cleaned with three young children. We utilized clean lines and stayed away from upholstery, so spills and mealtimes were a breeze. The concrete tabletop adds just enough natural interest without being overpowering. The size and scale of the light fixture was also important since we were working with tall ceilings and windows, I wanted to make sure it felt balanced.”

“We kept the kitchen white and bright, however we brought a fun splash of color by bringing over the blue-grey color from the fireplace in the family room to the island, and again in the geometric tile found behind the range.  We added warmth by wrapping a custom wood detail around the bottom of the hood, with bringing in the cognac leather barstools, and a custom butcher block on the end of the island.”

“The wallpaper in the powder room was shown to me during one of the very first meetings that we had, and I promised the client that I not only knew where to find it, but that we would get this floral Schumacher wallpaper somewhere in her home for her!  We mixed a navy grout onsite to ensure we had the proper color for the penny round floor tile to pull in the blue from the walls, and again brought in warmth through the modern wood vanity with black accents.”

“The mudroom is outfitted with large built-in lockers to provide storage and is equipped with a wood bench and geometric floor tile, which brings some fun energy to the space.  We opted for black hardware in order to really let the floor shine.  Classic, clean, yet just a slight modern edge to keep it interesting.”

“The book nook is the perfect spot to read your favorite book or bedtime story. Soft blue and natural tones were selected to promote relaxation and we added warmth with the two brass sconces. The roman shade creates an element of softness, without taking away from the beautiful view.”

“We used lemon wallpaper in the playroom to give it a whimsical feel and create a space that their children and their friends could enjoy. The brightly colored rug and oversized bean bag chairs encourage play, which is exactly what this room is for!  Nothing too serious, just fun.”

“The children’s bathroom has a slight vintage tone with the oversized sink, however we brought the modern element back through the use of graphite hexagon floor tile and subway tile on the walls. The mirror and the fixture are simple and clean to really let the sink be the star that it is.”

“The three seasons room is a real showstopper in this home.  Surrounded by nature, you feel as if you are relaxing in an upscale boutique modern treehouse.  With the touch of a remote, screens can be lowered and you are protected, and most importantly, bug free.  The black painted shiplap ceiling with wooden beams is my favorite element because it highlights the architectural details in the space in an unexpected and unforgettable way.”
