When it comes to “livable glamour,” interior designer Lisa Gilmore is at the top of her game. With over a decade of experience, the Florida designer is one of the most sought-after creatives, not just in Southwest Florida where she lives, but across North America. Her bold use of color, pattern, and high-end finishes ensure her work always stands out. (Who could forget this gorgeous condo we featured last year?)  Read on to learn more about everything from her day-to-day essentials to where she sees herself in 5 years.

MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT:
I was tired of the circus, the day-to-day, and feeling like I wasn’t progressing in many areas of business (and life). I finally woke up and realized I needed to be a better business owner and leader, that my passion for design would only get me so far, and that I had to hone in on other things to make this a thriving business with longevity. I got my head out of the sand and began focusing on finances and business development, and since then, everything feels more obtainable and practical, as well as fulfilling.

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
I have had my Nespresso!

SUCCESS IS:
Being your truest most authentic self and being hired to create for others using that voice.

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
Unique jewelry (often layered) and most definitely a bold lip color.

MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
This is a tough one! There are so many things I would love to do creatively. The first being a collection collaboration that crosses the worlds of fashion and interior design. That would be a thrill!

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN ST. PETERSBURG:
British Columbia. I share my time there with my fella and absolutely love summers there. They truly rejuvenate your soul, so fresh and crisp. Also, Paris. I can never get enough Paris!

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I usually reach for documentaries of great inspirational women before me. As of lately, MasterClass has been great for that too – so many things to learn and implement on your own!

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Saying no is more powerful than saying yes. Boundaries are Important.

IN 5 YEARS, FIND ME:
Designing beautiful spaces filled with personality and story. My design firm will likely have grown a lot by then. I dream that it will continue to be a creative design studio, with an invigorating work culture and client experience. Hopefully I will be working on my first coffee table book by then and traveling to different areas of the world, sourcing beautiful objects and artisans to work with on projects.

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Be yourself. Identify your personal goals and big rocks of your life that will move your needle forward the way YOU want it. If you lead your life with authenticity and are genuine to yourself and others, there will be no room for disappointment.
