Over The Moon is the ultimate digital destination for modern wedding inspiration. Co-Founder Alexandra Macon has a decade+ experience as an editor, contributing to Brides.com and Vogue regularly, but Over The Moon is where most of her inspiration lives.

Taking things a step further, Alexandra set out to disrupt another element of the wedding industry: registries. She joined a former Moda Operandi buyer to build a platform that will help couples find brands that fit their own personal taste. Over The Moon’s registry service offers a curated assortment from their own site as well as the ability for couples to register for products from any e-commerce site. Gone are the days of wandering a department store with a scanner, selecting from one of three towel options. Plus, brides can register for fun accessories too, or even stays at luxury hotels like Hotel Il Pellicano for the honeymoon.

The entrepreneur takes 5 minutes to share what inspires her, how she begins her work day, and what she’s got up her sleeve next.

MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
Attending friends’ beautiful weddings and realizing they weren’t being featured anywhere.

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
My children jump on top of me. This is hopefully soon followed by some kind of enjoyable beverage—either a smoothie or a coffee.

SUCCESS IS:
Figuring out that elusive work/life balance.

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
A ring passed down to me from my great aunt. I wear it every day, and it’s my most treasured possession.

DREAM COLLABORATION:
One we’re working on right now. It’s too early to talk about it, but needless to say we’re really excited!

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN NYC:
I’m a big believer in New York or nowhere—but my hometown of Charleston, SC, is a close runner-up.

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I write the idea down.

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Start your own thing and don’t look back.

IN 5 YEARS, FIND ME:
Still working on my own thing.

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Love what you do.
