Don’t get us wrong… we typically lean towards a bare faced, less than 5 minutes, mascara + lip balm only routine. But once mid-November rolls around, we find ourselves craving bolder choices in rich, holiday hues. In fact, this beauty shoot (by the talented Laura Diaz) has inspired our entire holiday look.
For eyes, we’re stepping away from the traditional cat-eye. Use creamy eyeshadows in bronze, slate, purple, or even green for a fresh take on the classic smoky eye. If you can’t live without eyeliner, use a very thin line to accentuate your lashes without overshadowing the look. For cheeks, we suggest sticking to bronzer (for that holiday glow!) and some light pink blush along your cheekbones. If you apply blush on the apples of your cheeks, it could end up looking too heavy or overbearing. For lips, find a rich, berry hue that you love and top with gloss. Last but not least, ’tis the season to embrace a dark nail polish. We’re leaning towards a dark green or navy!
Obviously, we’re excited for holiday makeup. How about you? Tell us- do you adjust your routine based on the season?
