Did you know today (August 8) is  National CBD Day? We don’t always celebrate these “national holidays” but when it’s centered around a product we love, we’re all in. CBD, which is short for Cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in hemp and marijuana. The thing to note about CBD, however, is that it’s non-psychoactive AKA it will not get you high. That said, we’ve found it to help with a variety of ailments from stress to sore muscles.

One company, Cured Nutrition, is making some of our favorite CBD products on the market. Their Classic Mint Oil is the perfect afternoon pick me up and has officially replaced our 3PM cup of coffee. (They also have dog treats to help your furry friends, a salve for achey muscles, even spices for cooking!)

When our friends at Be Inspired PR said they were hosting a luncheon with Cured Nutrition to celebrate National CBD Day, we were excited! Needless to say, CBD was the star — everything from the cocktails and appetizers to the party favors had a little CBD! 4 Ways to Incorporate CBD Into Your Next Event for National CBD Day

  1. Use CBD-infused spices on your appetizers. We added cinnamon & honey spice to grilled peach and burrata tartines, and it was so. good.
  2. Make CBD cocktails and/or mocktails. CBD pairs so well with all of your favorite drinks! We added a few drops of raw hemp oil to a creamy iced chai for guests to sip on during lunch.
  3. Add CBD-infused cookie dough to your favorite dessert! 1) Yes, CBD edible cookie dough is a thing and we are here for it and 2) it’s the perfect topping for a summer ice cream sundae.
  4. Send guests home with CBD favors. We went for a multi-use hemp salve that’s great for muscle pain, arthritis, and more. Who wouldn’t want that!?

Grilled Peach and Burrata Tartines with Basil and Honey

Ingredients:
2 peaches, sliced into ¼- to ½-inch rounds
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
4 slices bread
8 ounces burrata cheese
Fresh basil leaves
2 teaspoons honey
Flaky sea salt

Instructions:
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush your peach rounds on both sides with the olive oil. Grill your peaches for 2-3 minutes per side or until slightly softened with some sexy grill marks. Transfer to a cutting board. Top each piece of toast with 2 ounces of burrata. Arrange a few peach rounds and basil leaves on top of the burrata. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Serve immediately.

Iced Chai with CBD

Ingredients:
strongly brewed chai tea
nut milk
CBD oil
sugar or Xylitol
cinnamon and nutmeg
ice

Instructions:
In whatever cup you plan on using, pour in the milk and chai tea you want. I do about half and half in each glass. I find that measuring in the glass helps me waste less and I save the leftover brewed tea in the fridge for later. Pour your tea/milk combo in the blender. Add some CBD oil. Next, add your sweetener. You can use sugar, honey, Xylitol, or whatever you like. Next, I add a pretty big sprinkle of cinnamon and a small sprinkle of nutmeg. Add ice and blend! Then, pour & enjoy!
