In 2011, Team Rue filled a trailer with gorgeous entertaining essentials, antique furniture, and a great wardrobe and headed to the middle of the Nevada desert. The mission? “A Handful of Dust,” a fashion and lifestyle feature to kick off summer. It ended up being one of the most beautiful photo shoots – possibly ever? – and ended up on the cover of our 4th issue. 

Fast forward to today: Coachella is less than a week away (and it’s all anyone can talk about

), and thousands of ticket holders are ready to make their yearly voyage to the desert. While we’re big Alt-J fans, we’re opting to sit this year out and instead transport ourselves via these photos. We hope they’ll inspire you to host your own Coachella-esque event without leaving the comforts of home.

The ever-talented stylist Meagan Camp took the lead and created our desert-dreamland. Antique furniture sets the scene for our picturesque seating area, while Anthropologie

wares adorn the dinner table. And, even though it’s been nearly 4 years, the primarily neutral wardrobe fits in perfectly with today’s top trends.
