This spring and summer, we’re no longer looking for “reasons” to entertain. We think a random Tuesday is reason enough to gather friends or family! And this event, from Christine Traulich of RedBliss Design and Emily Pinon of Bastille Flowers & Events, has us ready to put on our hostess hats.

What’s most unique about this event is the innovative and eye-catching tablescape. “We wanted to highlight the ease and beauty of using real ivy as a table covering and how our laser cut chargers allow the ivy to ‘grow’ through them creating a special garden-style place setting,” Christine told us. The result is total English garden vibes — the oasis of vines and organic floral composition makes it appear like the garden has literally come right to the table. Christine tells us more:

Your laser cut chargers are the star! How did you come up with the idea to have the ivy below?
What we love about our laser cut Chroma chargers is that they function as a versatile design element when creating your tablescape. The openings within the design of the charger allow for more imaginative ways to create a place setting. In this case, having the ivy spill out under them allowed us to turn the table into a living garden.  We have also seen designers loop napkins through the laser cut openings in creative ways.

We love that idea! Do you have any other tips for bringing spring to the table?
  • First, color!  Coming out of the white and gray winter months we crave color. Especially green!
  • Second, add gold. The shimmer and shine of gold metallic brings some sunshine to the table.
  • Third, serve a bright and effervescent beverage that coincides with the welcome warmer weather. My go-to is a mimosa or a bellini.
  • And as a lovely unexpected treat, wrap up the spring flowers from the table into an arrangement for your last guest to take home.
