At Rue, we’ve had the privilege of having some of the most talented minds in lifestyle create stories for our readers. Cassandra LaValle is among them – one of the four women who brought Rue to life, she has made her indelible mark on our magazine. As the founder of the platform Coco+Kelley, she continues to inspire us with her entertaining and design point of view. Today, she’s sharing with us a layered autumn table that is perfect for enjoying with friends and family, using a mix of textures that are nature-inspired.
“This table was inspired by the classic colors of fall,” she shared, “The changing leaves, red apples, and wheat all bring this season to mind for me. I used these elements in the table and selected complimentary items that I already had to set the tone! I wanted it to be a very casual – but cozy – setting.” At the heart of this table setting is a lifelike Potted Fall Tree from Balsam Hill. Without the hassle of watering, potting, and pruning, this faux tree, imperceptible to a live one, is as practical as it is versatile. “It came carefully packaged, but easy to open and pop right into our space,” she said. “We don’t have any maples around our home, so it felt nice to add something a little different to the mix of golden yellows in our yard and neighborhood. Plus, it immediately screams fall (in the best way!) so if you don’t live a place where you have changing leaves to set the mood, adding some faux trees will do the trick!”
She then created a layered and elegant tablescape that seems elaborate but is completely achievable. Click on our slideshow to find out some of her insider tips and tricks!
