If you’re anything like us, you’ve chosen a beverage based on its bottle before. Enter KOVAL – a gin with the prettiest packaging we’ve ever seen. However, it’s got a lot more going for it than a well-designed label. The small-batch gin is made with an interesting blend of woodland spices. The flavors include juniper, wildflowers, grasses, golden citrus, and white pepper. We know. That seems like a lot of information. All you need to know is that it’s crisp enough to enjoy straight if that’s your thing, it mixes very well in all sorts of cocktails, and it looks darn good on your bar cart.

The team at KOVAL was kind enough to create a recipe just for Rue. The flavors of summer truly shine with strawberries, ginger, and our favorite morning ritual – kombucha. We’ll be whipping these up after work all summer long:

INGREDIENTS:
3 oz KOVAL Dry Gin
1 oz simple syrup
4-5 strawberries
2 slices of fresh ginger
kombucha

INSTRUCTIONS:
In a pint glass, muddle the strawberries and ginger before adding the Dry Gin and simple syrup.

Shake with ice, strain, and pour into two glasses over ice. Top with kombucha and garnish with a strawberry.
