Look closely at that tablescape. What do you see? Garlands of magnolia leaves? Not so fast! Those are actually paper garlands created by Charynn Olsheski of Pineapple Paper Co. Those who follow Charynn’s blog or who have purchased her personalized stationary and gifts know Charynn’s talent for bringing intricate designs to life. “I started planning kids’ parties – extravagant ones, I have to admit – when my oldest children were small,” she says, “which led me into designing stationery, adult parties and events, and tablescapes. In the creative world, there are no limits, and I am constantly adapting my projects and activities to fit my lifestyle and what my interests are. Pineapple Paper Co. is definitely a reflection of what I’m designing and crafting for my family and everyday life, in addition to my clients’ needs.”

Her inspiration for this table was the crisp fall air and gorgeous colors that surround her home. “Fall in Pennsylvania is one of my favorite times of the year. Since nature usually provides us with the beautiful colors of Autumn, I wanted to create a tablescape that was reflection of my interior design sense this year: neutrals and metallics. Neutral tableware is easy to mix with different decor every year, and the pop of sparkle from the metallics is enough to make the table feel “dressed up.” And I can’t resist pumpkins–the off white and green ones are so popular right now, and I can’t wait to use them everywhere!

Many of the elements of Charynn’s design were made thanks to Cricut’s new cutting machine, the Cricut Maker. Along with the garland, she created the write-and-cut menu cards, the customized vinyl wine glasses, adhesive foil design on the cocktail glasses, the leather coasters, and the customized cocktail napkins. She says, “The Cricut line of cutting machines and products like the EasyPress have completely changed how I plan parties and tablescapes, let alone how I execute them. I now have the ability to create nearly anything I want to customize a party without having to order tons of expensive custom items. With the new rotary blade and adaptive tool system, I was able to cut delicate crepe paper, the cotton fabric for the napkins, and the leather using the same blade and with precision that I could never have achieved by hand–never mind the time I saved!”
