Taniya Nayak keeps busy. The interior designer’s work has included television shows like Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible, HGTV’s Urban Oasis, and the Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC. While her firm is based in Boston, this home is her escape in South Florida. Looking to transform her space while keeping to a budget, Taniya partnered with hayneedle.com to find great deals that don’t break the bank. She found everything she needed, down to the paint! Now she calls her home “my own little oasis getaway. A place to shut off from everyday noise and just relax.” We talk with Taniya about her home’s design:

What was your inspiration for the project’s design?
I was going for a white/off white backdrop with plenty of texture and some wood tones filtered throughout to keep the mid-century feel of the existing architecture. The .01 Colorhouse paint from hayneedle.com on all the walls was a great canvas for me to start with. I then choose my larger pieces, like the daybed and the sofa in soft neutrals and accented with pillows and throws for texture. The key was knowing that the view of the water would be my focal point and not competing with that. I wanted the inside space to have its own special charm while allowing the outside view to speak for itself.

You partnered with hayneedle.com for this project. How did that affect your design?
I had so many option to choose from at hayneedle.com. The site is super easy to navigate and simple to hone in on a certain aesthetic. For me, that was mid-century modern meets beachy casual. The prices were great and the lead times made it very easy to get my little oasis completed on-time so I could get to the beach!
