As Ashley Clark got her start in interior design, she found inspiration as she wandered the aisles at some of Southern California’s top flea markets. The vintage finds often ended up in her own home. As time went on and treasures accrued, it only made sense to launch an online shop of her own — sKout — where vintage-lovers can score custom pillows and unique finds.

It was this appreciation for vintage that drew her latest clients in. The young couple had an 8 year old son, and were wanting to update their home with a more sophisticated vibe. The client explains, “I knew what I wanted in terms of style but needed someone to help me make decisions on things and to give me new, fresh ideas. Ashley has a great attention to detail and really pulls everything together so it feels cohesive and has a flow. I love our house now! Everyone who walks in says it feels like us. She was really able to get our personality and what we wanted and it really shows in the end result.”

For Ashley, the project was a breeze after finding one star piece. “The amazing vintage rug is really the stunner— so we let her really shine,” Ashley says. “The acrylic coffee table did not block or hide any of her goodness, and all of the art was commissioned by a local artist to compliment the colors.” While there are certainly modern items throughout the room, many more are collected. Ashley searched for treasures at flea markets and local shops — like 503 Found — that carry really unique and one of a kind items.

The end result is a bright, bohemian paradise. Start the slideshow for a closer look!
