After 7 years in the fashion and merchandizing industry, Stephanie Breitbard was ready for a change. In 2007, the Harvard Business School grad launched Stephanie Breitbard Fine Arts — a private gallery and art consulting firm in the Bay Area. SBFA blends traditional gallery-artist representation with in-home art consulting, and includes established artists alongside up-and-comers. The firm has grown to two locations: Mill Valley and San Francisco.
The San Francisco outpost, which we’re sharing today, is located in Jackson Square — an art-centric neighborhood in the heart of the city. Working with Elizabeth Cooper Interior Design and Sutro Architects, Stephanie and her team created a unique gallery experience that is totally changing the game. The space, which layers vintage and contemporary furnishings and accessories, is more reminiscent of a home than a traditional gallery. And with an appointment only policy, each client is treated to an individualized experience tailored to his or her interests.
In the slideshow below, we’re chatting with Stephanie to learn more — and taking a closer look at the beautiful (and innovative!) gallery along the way.
