Last month the Rue team had the privilege of celebrating our 5th anniversary with a day of wine tasting followed by a spectacular five-course dinner at the renowned Auberge Du Soleil. Perched on Rutherford Hill, we lingered over each course expertly paired with the perfect wine. Let us just say, that all the accolades – including consecutive Michelin stars – for Chef Robert Curry are clearly well deserved. Prior to our anniversary dinner, they generously let us have a peek at their newly renovated rooms and tour the stunning 33-acre property with its sweeping and majestical views. Lucky us!
Auberge Du Soleil had us dreaming about romantic getaways, girls’ weekends, and sneaking away to recharge at any available moment. It has been calling to us to return ever since. The spa, nestled in an olive grove, is nothing short of world class and the pool beckoned us to plunge in, kick our feet up on a chaise, and order something delightfully alcoholic. Oh my, the wonderfully reimagined rooms designed by Suzanne Tucker of Tucker and Marks Design, are expansive and cozy at the same time. The acclaimed San Francisco designer came to the project with an intimate knowledge of the property, having served as protégé to influential designer Michael Taylor on the original project. She even used a vintage Pierre Frey fabric swatch found in his files as inspiration for the palette of sun-drenched neutrals and signature persimmon found throughout the property. The luxurious king bed as focal point of the room had us craving to sprawl across it and move in. It was easy to imagine being curled up in front of the fire or soaking in the views in the outdoor tub. I mean, what could be more romantic than that!
As the days become shorter and we race toward the holidays, timing for a getaway to Auberge Du Soleil could not be better. Christmas feels like it has come early this year with the just announced Auberge Holiday Getaway special which includes a $100 credit toward dinner for two, 10% discounts at the award-winning space, room upgrade when available, welcome gift and a take-home gift from the Auberge Du Soleil kitchen and complimentary breakfast. So book your room, make your dinner reservation (we highly suggest outside on the terrace) and look for us at the pool because we are planning to be there A LOT!
We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect, definitely plan on returning!
Jaclyn, Please let us know if we can help you to arrange an anniversary stay!
