“This home is in Silo Ridge, a community within Amenia, NY,” designer Hilary Matt explains. Her clients, a young family from New York City, purchased the new construction property as an escape from the city. “They wanted a place to go to where they could relax and enjoy the country and some fresh air,” she says.
Since the home was purchased pre-construction, the designer says it was in amazing shape with beautiful finishes. For furnishings, she pulled inspiration from the Hudson Valley and decorated with a modern country feel.
As you enter the home, the foyer sets the mood with a horn mirror, an organic bench, and earthy light fixtures. But in Hilary’s signature style, the space features a bold Missoni carpet and modern art—the theme throughout the residence. “It’s a modern take on earthy pieces and textures,” she says. The use of black & white is another “Hilary Matt” staple, and is carried through the home with pops of color throughout.
The project had many pandemic-related delays, but the result is worth the wait. Take a closer look in the slideshow.
