This Florida home is, in a word, goals. Brianna Michelle Interior Design says it all began with the bifold doors that span the length of the house, allowing for true indoor/outdoor living and ample room for entertaining. “We knew this was at the heart of our client’s lifestyle,” Brianna says. “Everything revolved around creating soothing environments and open-air spaces.”
Throughout the home, you’ll find luxurious sophistication displayed with modest simplicity. Read on to hear about Brianna’s design plan and the details that make the space so special.
This home is in such a beautiful setting! Where is it located?
This home is a hidden gem on the shores of a coveted, private chain of lakes. Nowhere else will you find a home that offers area amenities and conveniences than here. This rare pool home is a unique find that anyone would love to call their own. The community boasts numerous new multi- million dollar homes that are sprinkled with traditional charm.
The lot was selected for location, location, location! The goal of the design was for the home to maintain a sense of balance and boundaries, fully taking advantage of the location while creating a private oasis within the home.
What can you tell us about your clients? What were their design goals? Did they have any must-haves?
Our clients are the cutest family of six with two young children and two fur babies. This family was amazing to work with and had great ideas for their present lifestyle while considering the future. The location of the kids’ bedrooms was a hot topic! Soon enough, they would be teenagers and we needed to ensure that the relation of their rooms had them passing by their parent’s bedrooms on their way downstairs.
The LaCantina bifold doors and windows allow the living area to spill out to the sun- soaked poolside terrace. Seamless indoor/outdoor living was a must-have for this family who loves to entertain. The gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances as well as the outdoor summer kitchen allows for family and friends to gather together for open air fun. Meanwhile, evening sunsets over the lake provide the perfect backdrop for every occasion.
How did you bring a modern flair to coastal design?
Layers and layers of natural light and organic materials add textural appeal and warmth to the clean lines found throughout the home. Our goal was to bring the comfort of the interior to the exterior in an aesthetically endearing way. The water and light bring flexibility of design that creates natural luminosity and a multitude of shade patterns reflected within the home at various times of the day.
How long did the project take, and what did the client say when they saw the finished space?
We started the project in 2017 and the process took around two years to complete. The clients were absolutely a joy to work with. They left us the kindest review regarding our journey to achieving the home of their dreams:
“After our first meeting it was clear that Brianna Michelle would help shape our home into what we envisioned. We made some amazing layout changes right away and that started our 2+ year journey with them. Brianna and the team worked with us (and our builder) through every aspect of the build and made sure that it was on point. I know our home just wouldn’t have been the same without the amazing design and attention to every last detail…We absolutely love the house and we can’t wait to have Brianna and her team over to spend some time relaxing after such an amazing journey. If you are building or remodeling a home I would highly recommend meeting with Brianna as soon as possible.”
This project will always be special to us at BMID. We truly enjoyed assisting them in creating a home that they love and will cherish for years to come.
