A note from our editors: Thank you so much for all your support of Rue in 2017. Before we launch into new content for the new year, we wanted to share the posts of 2017 according to you, our readers! So we’re republishing our ten most popular posts, including this one. We hope you enjoy it!

Croma Design Inc. is a multi-disciplinary firm based in Toronto. The principal designers, Amy Kent and Ryan Martin, each fell in love with design at a very young age. Both admit to spending their youth marking up floor plans in home magazines, reinventing the spaces to fit their blossoming perspectives. The duo explains that growing up in environments where a respect for design and the arts was instilled resulted in their profession “choosing them,” not the other way around. (We love that!) Fast forward to today, and they’re living their dream – marking up real floor plans! – and creating stylish yet livable interiors.

“Our goal is to spark the imagination of anyone who occupies a Croma designed room,” the pair explains. “A Croma designed space is neither sterile nor overly decorated, but an investment that adds value into one’s everyday living.” Today, we tour one such space – a historic warehouse that was converted into a residential complex in the 1990s. The loft had great bones, but was a little dated. Enter Croma. They opened things up (bringing more space to the kitchen and enhancing the natural light) and embellished the home’s natural characteristics.

We had Amy and Ryan walk us through the loft, bringing the “virtual tour” to life. Start the slideshow to learn more – and snag a few of the products for your own home!
