This family gave Nest Design Co. clear and brief directions for what they were looking for with their home’s design: to transform their house in San Francisco into a contemporary and relaxing retreat for the family. When they moved to their new home, just a couple of blocks away from their old place, they brought with them a coffee table, sofa, and two leather chairs. They didn’t want curtains or shades so that they could fully take in their unobstructed views. “We are so accustomed to doing window treatments and this leads to a desire to always want them,” the Co-founders of Nest Design Co. Heather Brock and Jennifer Wundrow shared. “But listening to the client paid off – we loved how open the space felt.”

Overall, the homeowners had complete confidence in the designers and allowed them to completely take over the project. “This full rein is nerve-racking yet intoxicating and allows us to design to our full potential,” they said. For example, their clients asked for a dining table that had a mid-century profile that was also extendable, lasting them for decades. Accepting the challenge they thoroughly searched the market for the perfect piece and found it at The Future Perfect where they were able to customize it to their specifications. Finding just the right pieces, along with knowing how to create unexpected yet attractive pairings is what made Nest Design Co.’s work on this project a success.
