Despite the “shelter at home” order, we’ve had quite a busy week! Grab that cup of coffee (or wine! Who are we to judge?!) and enjoy our favorite finds of the week:
— Has your family already plowed through everything on Netflix? Good news! Trolls World Tour premieres today… from the comfort of your sofa! The much-anticipated animated movie is now streaming and will hopefully serve as a welcome (and joyful!) distraction for your family.
— There’s no doubt that the current state of affairs has likely affected your business in one way or another. The Atlanta Market is putting together some great resources to help you navigate this new normal. There are helpful tools and endless industry resources, from relief programs to designer education. Take a peek!
— Craving a room refresh? Wallpaper should do the trick. Hygge & West launched a new collection with Coral & Tusk! “We provide a unique product in embroidered linen and it’s such an exciting prospect to see our stitching reinterpreted and reimagined in a new medium as screen printed wallpaper,” Stephanie Housley, founder of Coral & Tusk, shared. The collection includes three new patterns featuring designs of delicate feathers, a propitious evil eye and geometric quills.
— Another great resource is Room Edit by Stacey Cohen. It’s an online interior design service that only requires 6 easy steps, and includes a 15-minute phone consultation with your designer and a tailored design plan for your room. You’ll get a detailed floorplan, styleboard, 3D rendering and budget-friendly shopping list with links to purchase — all within two weeks! Check it out here.
— Our friends at Be Inspired PR just rebranded! And given the state of current events, they’re also offering new services at significantly lower rates to help the wedding and event industry get through this together. Find details here.
— Sticking to a routine is one of the things keeping us sane during these crazy times. Instead of going for a 2PM cup of coffee, we’ve turned to afternoon tea to relax and have a moment of calm. To keep our tea habit going, we’ve been using Sips by. It’s a personalized tea subscription based on your preferences, and ships right to your front door. Their Sip Together Tea Shop supports small brands — a win-win!
— Now that the workplace has gone digital, Zoom meetings are the norm. Blur out your space (kids and pets running around?) with stylish backgrounds. Sonder has some gorgeous interior design photos from their spaces across the world, while CG&S Design created some that are like an instant home renovation.
— Pulled has created an amazing resource to highlight the amazing things companies, individuals, and organizations are doing to help alleviate the impacts of COVID-19. Are you a business providing support? Are you a business that needs support? Click here.
— For the very first time, Heath Ceramics is offering a series of online discounts in the month of April! Customers can save 20% off select goods online.
— Lawson-Fenning has amped up their collaboration with Brooklyn-based ceramic artist MQuan! The one-of-a-kind side tables feature a hand-built and hand-painted ceramic top designed by MQuan and a solid white oak base designed by Lawson-Fenning.
— Hoping to use this time at home to take a few classes? Cambria, the leading family-owned, American-made, natural stone producer, is producing fun and informative content like a wine pairing with Sommelier Leslee Mille, and styling tips with Kyla Herbes of House of Hipsters. See the schedule here.
— If you want to zone out, LA-based stationery brand Adelfi created custom coloring pages with Mother Denim. Coloring is a great exercise in mindfulness and helps you relax. Download them here!
— Update your outdoor space with Arhaus! They are having a friends & family sale, offering 30% off all products. (In case you’re more concerned with your home’s interiors, they have a lot of great pieces for that too.)
— We have found the cutest Mother’s Day gift ever! Akola’s Bead Kit is a “build your own bracelet kit” that comes in really cheerful colors. We suggest buying one to send to Mom, buying one for yourself, and making them together over FaceTime!
— Finally, don’t miss our new favorite podcast: The Style Files Podcast with Paloma Contreras! Paloma, a Houston designer known for her wildly popular blog La Dolce Vita, will be having thoughtful conversations with designers, creatives, and industry trailblazers. The Style Files: Conversations with Creatives launched with 5 episodes featuring Mark D. Sikes, Bunny Williams, Jeffrey Bilhuber, Amanda Lindroth, and Nick Olsen.
