Well, that week felt like a year and a half. Our world is rapidly changing as we know it and it’s certainly an unsettling time. At Rue, our hope is to keep this website as you’ve always known it — we aim to be a source of inspiration and a welcome distraction from everyday life. Thank you for being part of our community! Now, we spent more hours than usual scrolling this week… so please enjoy our favorite links:
— The dress code at a home office is admittedly casual. Sweatpants and workout clothes are the norm… but they don’t have to be! A beautiful caftan is a great option. We’re big fans of MIRTH, a small company run by two sisters who create their clothing using textiles sourced from artisan communities. Right now, they’re offering 20% off site wide for the month of March. Chic and comfortable!
— Though we miss our morning trips to the coffee shop, there’s a certain beauty in making a great brew at home. Grounds & Hounds has a lot of great tutorials on their site, including perfecting that drip coffee. Plus, their beans can be delivered right to your door, and some of the proceeds go to help foster dogs.
— If you find yourself feeling ready to tackle a home decor project, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is an amazing resource right now. Their stores may be closed, but they’re offering virtual in-home design services, meaning you can snag expert advice from a distance!
— Craving some retail therapy? DACHA has some beautiful pieces we’re currently coveting… like stylish accessories and calming candles. We can’t wait until we’re able to visit their new West Hollywood location in person!
— Portola Paints just refreshed their New Standard Edition. There are 39 new hand-mixed, earthy colors in the acrylic and enamel paint series. They’re all made with low odors and no VOCs, meaning their engineered for environmental safety. Check out the new colors here.
— If you didn’t get to Costco in time to stock up on toilet paper, you might find yourself wondering why the US isn’t on the bidet train. The Sensowash Shower Toilet from Duravit (it’s a combination of a bidet and a toilet) should be a staple in every bathroom.
— Finally, we’ll leave you with this beautiful moment of calm: Anthony Hopkins playing the piano for his cat.
