Prisca Courtin-Clarins (yes, of THAT Clarins) might be an heiress, but she has quite an accomplished resume of her own. After passing her Baccalauréat in Economics and Social Sciences, Prisca continued her studies at ISEG, the Advanced European Institute of Management. During this time, she worked with the family business as well as the Marie-Claire Group, Yves Saint Laurent and L’Occitane. Of course, the entrepreneurial it-girl knew this wouldn’t be enough, and headed back across the pond to get her Master’s in Business at the prestigious Queen Mary University of London. (Don’t worry, we’re also tired just thinking about it.) After opening up a successful chain of nail salons in London, she made the exciting decision to rejoin the family business as the Spa Activities Strategic Projects Director. Focusing on the growth of the Clarins Spa has been her passion, and she has big plans ahead. We snagged 5 Minutes With the busy tastemaker to find out her daily routine, her favorite mascara (we’ve already ordered it ourselves), where she finds her inspiration, and what she has up her sleeve next:

MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
When I was in business school and realized how modern an approach to the business of beauty my grandfather Jacques Courtin-Clarins had even in the 1950’s. And then, I realized I could be useful in continuing to bring the family brand to a new generation.

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
I kick start the day with fresh lemon juice in hot water to get rid of toxins then I always drink a double expresso – never fails.

SUCCESS IS:
Loving and working, but also loving to work.

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
Mascara! I cannot step out the house without applying some. My favorite is the Clarins Be Long mascara in black – it gives me long and luscious lashes that look very natural.

MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
My dream collaboration came true the day Clarins partnered with the amazing Hotel Royal Monceau in Paris to create the Spa My Blend by Clarins. It is a real paradise in the heart of the city, a very ethereal and relaxing environment designed by Philippe Stark. We have a state-of-the-art gym and our spa is the perfect flagship to showcase our world-renowned spa treatments and skincare products.

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN PARIS:
London, vibrant and energizing: so close yet so different!

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I pay a visit (and do some shopping!) at the Bon Marché department store – it’s one of the historical Parisian department stores. Its Art Deco architecture always inspires me, and I also stop by La Grand Epicerie at the lower level for a delicacy.

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Mistakes happen but you can learna lot of positive things from them.

IN 5 YEARS FIND ME:
Being an active part of our family owned company, Clarins where I am, and will be, an active board member in addition to being in charge of the Clarins Spa activities around the world. In other words: pretty busy!

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
My family and my friends – always.
