Though not a children’s brand by definition, Stray Dog Designs is a creative resource. They offer whimsical lighting, as well as furniture and decor accessories handcrafted in Mexico of materials such as papier-mâché and tin. Though available in a variety of colors to offer the perfect eye popping element to any nursery, we tend to gravitate to their fun expressions in white to add whimsy in a more minimalist palette. 

Kalon is a small brand started by a husband and wife team in Los Angeles. Their cribs are not only beautiful but sustainably sourced, manufactured in the US, and free of any and all chemicals. Coupled with the timeless design, this is a perfect crib!

The crib is clearly a central element in a nursery, but did you know that even more important than the crib is the mattress that goes inside. Nook makes a mattress any mother would love. The breathable signature pebble fabric keeps baby comfortable and safe, while the eco-friendly materials that comprise every mattress allow for air flow. We love the unique look of this key item in any nursery. Nook also has changing pads, play pads, and nursing pillows in the same signature pebble fabric. 

The marriage of form and function in the Nuna Leaf Baby Seat has us wanting one for every room. The “suited” fabric option across their line of baby essentials is quite sophisticated. Beyond the nursery, the car seat and stroller travel system all work together to simplify life and have you looking stylish. 

Serena and Lily‘s coastal and minimal vibe is always a go-to for nursery design. (You could really do the entire room with the warm but airy inventory on this site.) We especially gravitate to their well curated selection of rugs, but they have great gliders, lovely lighting, and endless options of one of the most essential elements for design and function of any nursery…storage! 

Minted has you covered for the art component. There is a wide range of styles, color palettes and sizes. We love the affordability of the perfectly sized and framed pieces they offer, plus they arrive at your doorstep in a snap. Beyond the art, there are some great items to spice up the nursery from artsy lampshade designs in any color you could dream up to teepee play rooms.

There are so many great sites to find quality and interesting items for your nursery but we highly suggest also not getting locked into baby only brands. You can make your nursery unique with bookshelves and dressers from a wide array of manufacturers. Consider using a dresser as changing table, also one tip is too look for a taller dresser so you are not having to bend over, over and over. In the beginning you might spend a great deal of time in your nursery, doing exactly that, nursing, and that glider or swivel or lounger will be your best friend in the wee hours of the morning so get comfy and choose a fabric that you love. CR Laine is definitely one of our favorites when it comes to stylish and on trend fabrics not to mention they have several chairs that both rock and swivel….yay!
