There’s a lot to love about J+G Design’s recent rooftop reception. It’s safe to say that the view (and the menu!!) just can’t be beat. However, what really swept us away was the vibrant tablescape. Instead of using a traditional centerpiece, they reached for something unexpected – an elephant garden stool. Many might see a large stone sculpture as too bold or harsh for a tabletop, but Jennifer and Georgie styled it with ease. To tie the unusual piece into the rest of the table’s design, they added cascading flowers that matched the linens. Since the sculpture is a bit tall (and could prevent conversation), they utilized bench seating in a U-shape so that everyone would still be able to see each other. This is definitely a tabletop trick that takes some thinking outside of the box, but the results are absolutely beautiful and ensure a gathering your guests won’t soon forget.
