This bright and airy shop with artisan-made products is not what you’d expect it to be – although it possesses the qualities of a regular home decor boutique, it’s really a non-profit organization that aids artisans and their communities around the world. Founded by Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla, The Little Market uses all of the profits made by purchases to be reinvested in those in those communities that they work with. For a great cause, it’s hard to resist the urge to shop, especially when their first brick-and-mortar, located in the Palisades Caruso Complex, looks this good.
Designed by STUDIO LIFE.STYLE, The Little Market’s physical store is a petite yet contemporary jewel box of artisan goods. “Lauren and Hannah know their product so well, so it was a matter of translating the feeling of the brand into a physical space,” Shannon Wollack and Brittany Zwickl of STUDIO LIFE.STYLE shared. “Because many of their products are colorful, it made sense the space to be light, clean and minimal to let the products speak for themselves.” Their choice of whitewashed oak cabinetry and cement floors sets a clean backdrop for the bright merchandise. “The custom cash wrap is clad with Moroccan, snow-white, zellige tiles and the oversized, woven pendants from HK Living add an earthy natural element to the space,” the designers said. But one of their favorite elements are the brass rails used to display the rotating collections of baskets, throws, and towels.
