Miansai started with a simple bracelet in 2008 and since then has grown into a unisex lifestyle brand known for products that are elevated, minimal and clean. Looking westward after the success of their first location in New York City, Creative Director Michael Saiger selected a second location that is as West Coast as possible, Venice Beach. Located on the laid-back but flourishing Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the shop was conceptualized and designed by Michael along with Peter Buley from Analog Modern.
The Scandinavian-inspired, 1000-square-foot space features refurbished white brick walls, Italian porcelain tiles, a trio of rich walnut wood beams that create distinct areas within the large and narrow space. Michael and Analog Modern also collaborated on custom walnut, metal and glass display cases for Miansai’s collections of jewelry, bags, and small leather goods. One walls hosts the “Evolution of the Hook Bracelet”, which allows shoppers to create their own interpretations of the brand’s classic hook and anchor bracelets. Visitors can also take a break from browsing and grab a cold-pressed juice or kombucha from the in-house tea bar to sip in the backyard garden, a favorite for locals as well as shoppers. And that’s just what Michael and the team at Miansai wanted.
