Earlier today, designers & tastemakers partook in a lively Twitter Chat. The topic of discussion? High Point Market of course! For those who don’t know, High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, and brings more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina every six months. Market is one of Rue’s favorite events of the year, as we love unearthing future trends and welcoming new classics.

The Decor Mentor team (comprised of Lisa Ferguson, Erica Islas, Lisa Kahn, Jennifer Brouwer,  Beth Dotolo and Carolina V. Gentry, Kati Curtis, and James Saavedra) shared their curated list—and gave a first look!!—at the top new products for the new season. In case you missed the chat, we’ve got the highlights! Here are a few of our favorite moments:

Lisa Ferguson started the chat off strong, sharing an amazing faux shagreen console with brass accents by Emporium Home. It’s sophisticated and feminine, and a hint at the unexpected shapes we’ll be seeing at High Point this year!

-Speaking of shape, the gals at Pulp Design Studios were impressed by the Giza Dresser from Noir. We think that all things geometric will be big this season, and we love that the weathered finish gives this bold piece a neutral feel.

-As Erika Islas showed us, there will be no shortage of texture this Market! One of her top picks was the Jaxon Home Gunnison Chair with Himalayan Shearling. So fabulous… and we’re thinking a must-have in the Rue HQ!

-Designer Jennifer Brouwer introduced us to Julie Dasher Rugs, and more specifically- the vibrant Lily Pad Rug. It’s more than a rug, it’s a piece of art… and we can’t wait to see it in person while at High Point!

-Speaking of art, James Saavedra selected one of the new pieces from Natural Curiosities as one of his top picks for fall. Hand painted feathers are a show-stopping way to add texture to your gallery wall.

-Last spring, we fell in love with Dunes & Duchess, and Lisa Kahn is on the very same page. She is loving the Oval Captain’s Compass Table in turquoise… a piece now at the top of our wish lists!

-One thing all chat participants agreed on is that blue is having a major moment. Kati Curtis selected this rich, inky sofa from Canvas Home and the crowd went wild. It’s clear that shades of blue will be taking center stage in many of the showrooms!
