A few weeks ago, we joined our friends from Inspired by This for a wellness event in Los Angeles. We arrived at the beautiful Lombardi House in the heart of Hollywood to kickstart our health and fitness goals for the sunny season ahead. The goal of the day was to celebrate and educate women putting themselves first and living a healthy lifestyle. Don’t get us wrong… we love boozy brunch! But there’s something about spending your Saturday morning committed to putting your health first that just starts the weekend off right.

We joined a few industry leaders to learn more. Danielle Walker of Against All Grain shared her skills in a cooking demonstration; Lauren Roxburgh lead a body alignment workout session; and Kelly Leveque from Be Well by Kelly taught the group her secrets for great smoothies. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Inspired by This event without some major swag bags. All guests left with everything they need to jumpstart their wellness journey for spring. Three cheers for making healthy food choices and keeping our bodies aligned!

We wanted to bring the positive vibes of the day to our readers, so we tapped the experts mentioned for their top tips. Read on for ways you can put yourself first this spring + snag Kelly’s recipe for a #Fab4Smoothie:

Take time to cook at home. Cooking a nourishing meal for yourself or your family not only saves money over going out or ordering in, but it’s important to get to wisely choose the ingredients you’re putting in your body. Plus, spending some time in the kitchen with some fun music on can be cathartic!” – Danielle Walker of Against All Grain

Commit yourself to a morning ritual to elevate your emotions, awaken your potential and attract your desires. Do it daily and don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day. Our bodies literally ‘hear’ everything we’re saying, thinking and feeling and our lives reflect it – so take the time each day to be specific. Our thoughts, emotions, actions and choices become our personal reality and deeply affect our health. Daily affirmations are an amazing way to raise your vibration and help you live in an elevated emotional state and a vibrant, happy body. Placing your attention and awareness on these elevated emotions helps us experience more of this energy in our lives. I wake up 15 minutes before my kids and before I look at my phone I to sit up in bed and close my eyes and repeat my affirmations for 5 min.” –Lauren Roxburgh
