Ever since our latest issue came out, we’ve been hearing so much about our cover home, Rikke Bye-Anderson’s Oslo apartment. And we understand why. It’s the perfect blend of minimalist Scadanvian style with colorful, luxurious details. One room that especially stood out? Her bedroom. Here’s how to get the look.
Set your color palette. Rikke opted for green as her dominate color with bits of blush and gray to balance it out. The green kept the space from feeling to neutral and shows up in the bedding, rug, and curtains. Start with a minimalist color palette with one strong, dominate color and build out from there.
Add texture. Whether an original oil painting or a soft velvet pillow, build in texture to keep a modern space from feeling too sterile.
Balance clean lines with old-world influences. Hence the modern side table as a nightstand with the gold detailed vase and lamp on top. And the sleek bed with a tufted headboard ready for breakfast in bed.
See how we’d channel Rikke’s style and make it our own in the slideshow!
