Located in the heart of the Melrose Shopping District, Palihotel is the coolest place to stay when visiting Los Angeles. With 32 well-appointed guest rooms and a beautiful lobby lounge, it’s a great opportunity to live like a local. And that’s the thing — locals know this is the ultimate hangout. Now with a colorful new addition, it’s officially the best date night in LA.

Start your night off at Hart Throb Bar, which is intimate and pink and amazing. The bar is inspired by “conventional love, portraiture, art, and cinema” and is the first installment of pop-ups to be located within the hotel. The setting itself is an Instagram dream, with pink walls, quirky quotes, and even a spot to send love letters. The menus are Tinder-insprired (something you’ll have to see to believe) and feature slushies and spritzes. We suggest the Chesterfield and the Evelyn!

Dinner to follow — or brunch, if you’re starting this date on the earlier side — at The Hart and the Hunter is a must. You’ll walk through the lobby (feel free to bring your slushie with you!) and enter a design lover’s dream. There’s pale blue tile, vintage artwork, and rich cognac banquette seating. It’s industrial and cozy all at once. Of course, if the weather permits, we suggest sitting on the patio outside. (That’s the best part about living in LA, after all.) The restaurant just had their 5 year anniversary and is celebrating with a few new additions to the menu. We enjoyed the Buttered Biscuits and Fried Green Tomatoes, and think these two are a must. We also ordered/devoured the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp (a little on the spicy side, but in the best way) as well as the Hangar Steak, which came with cheddar mashed gold potatoes, and smoked marrow butter.

All in all, this is the ultimate spot to impress a date, meet up with your girlfriends, or just enjoy the best of one of LA’s coolest neighborhoods.
