Today’s beautiful home tour takes us to Pacific Park Estates in Long Beach, CA. It’s an eclectic neighborhood that features a lot of updated homes, though most have stayed quite true to their original architecture. Robin Strickler, the lead designer at Design Works, explains, “It has a vibe very similar to La Canada Flintridge in Los Angeles – the streets are lined by huge oak trees and beautifully manicured lawns. It’s really is a jewel of an enclave within the city of Long Beach.”
This bright home belongs to Robin’s clients, a young, successful couple with two small children. They ended up taking the property down to the studs and rebuilding the walls. Though it had the same footprint, the living spaces became quite a bit larger while the kitchen ended up with a more modern layout and contemporary design. Robin recalls, “The owners’ goal for this home was to have a midcentury modern feel that was still conducive to raising a family.”
To enter, you swing open a large, steel slab front door with rivets — the ultimate first impression! And that’s only the beginning. The rest of home features many custom elements peppered with glamorous details, all alongside kid-friendly furnishings. Robin takes us on a tour in the slideshow, but be warned: you’ll want to pin every last pic!
