With the holidays here in full force, we have a feeling that perfectly packaged presents aren’t the only thing on your shopping list. Let’s be real – we’re all making a few stops at the liquor store this season. You might need a plethora of ingredients for your famous punch OR just a nice bottle of champagne to gift your neighbor. That’s where Minibar Delivery comes in. Founded in NYC by Lara Crystal and Lindsey Andrews, it’s a premium alcohol delivery service that promises refreshing libations to your door in under an hour. They’ve since expanded to a ton of cities (see if yours is on the list here!) and are helping make life just a little easier. (And, to be honest, tastier.) We gave the founders our “5 Minutes With” treatment to learn more about their career path thus far AND find out what’s next. We have a feeling it involves a great cocktail:
MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
LARA CRYSTAL: Still waiting. Minibar was a labor of love after many nights ideating with Lindsey over takeout.
LINDSEY ANDREWS: I agree with Lara. We had many ideas over the years and it came down to deciding which one we were willing to take the plunge and the risk for. Minibar was the clear winner.
I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
LARA: I’ve completed (or tried to) the New York Times crossword. Though with the app I can do it online now the night before…
LINDSEY: I’ve had breakfast and read the New York Post. (Sadly, I can’t complete the New York Times crossword before work…)
LARA: Spending your days doing something you love.
LINDSEY: Loving what you do and the people you work with.
YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
LARA: Hoop earrings.
LINDSEY: My iPhone.
MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
LARA: I have not yet figured out how to tie Beyonce into Minibar, but one day I will…
LINDSEY: Beyonce – Minibar – Superbowl – it’s there somewhere!
THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN NYC:
LARA: Is this a trick question?
LINDSEY: Nowhere…but a break on a sunny beach like Anguilla is always appreciated.
WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
LARA: I turn to exercise – SoulCycle, Barry’s Bootcamp, a run outside, whatever.
LINDSEY: I try to take a break, relax and hang out with friends and family. I find it is best to get your mind off of the stress and come back later with a fresh perspective.
ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
LARA: Take more risks.
LINDSEY: I agree with Lara to take more risks. I’ve also learned how important the ability to sell is which we’ve had to jump in and do a ton of at Minibar and it is an invaluable skill.
IN 5 YEARS FIND ME:
LARA: Here, probably. But in a bigger, nicer office surrounded by a bigger Minibar team.
LINDSEY: Still collaborating with Lara, whether that is at a bigger Minibar or on our next project.
ABOVE ALL ELSE:
LARA: Family and friends.
LINDSEY: Have fun!
