With degrees in both architecture and business from Stanford and experience working at a top New York interiors firm, it’s not surprising that Noa Santos was inspired to not just start his own design firm but to reinvent how designers and clients interact. Frustrated with the opaque process of finding the right designer, Noa launched Homepolish in 2012 which was the first interior design platform to allow consumers to work with designers on an hourly rate, pairing them directly with designers who could design a space on any budget.
We’ve featured Homepolish homes from many different designers on Rue and today we grabbed #5MinutesWith Noa.
MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
When I realized the power and responsibility we all have as designers, entrepreneurs, thinkers, to shape the world around us in a way that brings joy to others. For me, it’s both empowering and exciting to this of this as a life’s mission.
I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
My morning shower.
Having the time to do what gives you energy and makes you feel fulfilled.
YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
My lip balm. It’s about the only thing I carry on me.
THE ONLY CITY BETTER THAN NEW YORK:
Tokyo perhaps, but mainly for the food.
WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I take a long, long walk.
ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Slow down and let success happen. Rushing things can turn good ideas into poor ones.
IN 5 YEARS, FIND ME:
Right here. There’s nowhere else with the kind of organized chaos I need to generate good ideas.
ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Have fun. We’re all tiny dots spinning around on another tiny dot in the middle of nowhere. So, don’t take yourself to seriously.
