The creative minds behind Australian’s Amigos de Hoy have launched a new collection that we’re very excited to share: Ground Control. The range is ethically made and fully customizable, featuring rich natural fibers and raw materials like jute, hemp, cotton and pure wool. Many have a hint of gold and metallics, a nod to Amigos de Hoy’s signature playful style. “We love combining unusual textures together, like natural jutes with metallics,” Creative Director Bree Hay-Hendry says. “[We’re] trying to bring the best of each fiber out in a weave. It really gives the range an a fresh feel to what is out there.”

The collection goes beyond looks, however. Bree continues, “We also wanted to vary of the types of settings Ground Control rugs are suitable for, for example our Karma Weave is pre-felted so is very sturdy and suitable for commercial environments.”

One thing that makes Ground Control stand out is their helpful offering, Room Service. “The manufacturing, technical and design expertise of Amigos de Hoy (along with sister brand, Art Hide) offers a reliable end-to-end service, from design conception to delivery,” founder Kura Perkins explains. “Through our free in-house Room Service, our design team will produce scaled elevations and renders, complemented by textile swatches of our full range.” Essentially, Room Service helps Ground Control clients select rugs and finishes to realistically see exactly what it look like in their room. “Anyone who has ever struggled to decide on a rug, or work out what pieces will pull a space together, will appreciate Room Service, which really takes the guesswork out of all those decisions,” Kura shares.

For Trade clients, there’s a Box of Feels — a curated box of loaned samples and products for you to see first hand and experience the quality of the range. Kura smiles, “And the couriers are on us!”
