In July, I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Karey and am so excited to share it with all of you today. Karey and her husband, Chuck are expecting their first child any day now (her due date was August 30th!) and the whole family is brimming with excitement – especially because we’re all dying to find out the gender! They’re one of those super patient couples who have the restraint to wait for the baby’s gender to be a surprise!

When I asked Karey if she had any requests for her baby shower, it was pretty simple. She wanted it to feel sophisticated (no cheesy games) and have a neutral color palette (no yellow, please!). Perfect, I thought, because if you know me, you know I’m all about classic style and neutral palettes. I could hardly wait to get working on the concept and design.

We determined that my in-laws’ beautiful home in the Marin hills outside of San Francisco would be the perfect location to host an outdoor lunch to celebrate the mother-to-be and her babe. I had thrown one other shower before, so I took what I learned from that one, and started planning. Click through the slideshow to get the scoop on all the pretty details!
